What do you think
of a man who speaks

his mind, even if some
wish he’d shut up?

I seek the one who loves
the way I tell it like it is.

Maybe you’re her, a curvy
beauty with a heart

shaped face, pursed lips,
an almost inaudible lisp?

You’ve put on pounds?
I know I have. All right,

I lied about the gym,
but I’ve got teeth.

Dear Gorgeous, I was felled
by your shy smile.

It’s rare, on the frontier,
to read a Fine Lady’s profile.

Don’t get me wrong, I read.
I fear God and love Art,

except for musicals with lots
of talking between songs.

I live in a cabin, chop my
own pine. I may as well

tell you right off about my
bum leg, my thumb stump.

Sometimes it takes a bad
accident to understand

life’s good. I can just look
at you and know.
