Paradisio

— an ode to Milton and Goethe in the style of the Great American Blues writers.

i got a ten cent word in edge wise let my alibi rise right up on its own
your demise was cut in stone. writ in skies that shone bright as fell
your soul's tangled well into my strings, what cradles us in wings?

all the broken stars
they fell who fell
fall to me, fall to me

I got a dime store life, a drug store fame. I got a brown bag whithered
washed out glaze away. I got the honda hitch, the dosed out gaze,
gouge or braise or blink or bray, I guess luck can change.

all the broken stars
they fell who fell
fall to me, fall to me

I got a ten cent word in let my abrogation stand.

Fall to me.
